Contractor website design built to sell the job before the phone rings

A contractor website gets judged on a phone, in about five seconds, by someone with a leaking roof. It has to load, show your work, show your reviews, and put a call button under their thumb. We build that on WordPress: a page for every service and every town you work in, written for your customers, with every form wired straight into your follow-up.

A founder builds it, on hosting and a domain in your name from day one, and every page is yours once the build is paid for.

What a contractor website has to do

If your site looks fine and the phone still doesn’t ring, it’s usually missing one of three things. Speed on a phone, because that’s where the homeowner is. A page for each service and each town, because that’s how Google matches you to “bathroom remodel” plus their town. And an obvious next step: a call button that never leaves the screen, a short form, and photos of your crew’s work instead of stock pictures of a smiling man in a hard hat. Most contractor sites were built to look nice to the owner. Ours are built to be found and chosen by a stranger.

WordPress web design for contractors: what’s in every build

  • WordPress with Divi. Edit any page yourself afterwards; a 20-minute video shows you how.
  • One page for each service you want more of, and one for each town you serve, written by us from a short intake form you fill in once.
  • A project gallery with before-and-after photos, laid out for a phone.
  • A tap-to-call button fixed on screen and one short form, both wired into GoHighLevel, so on any of our plans every lead gets a reply in under 60 seconds.
  • Rank Math set up: titles, descriptions, headings, LocalBusiness and Service schema, and your sitemap submitted to Search Console.
  • Speed tested on a phone before launch, with the PageSpeed result shown to you.
  • Google Analytics 4 with lead events, plus call tracking.
  • Hosting on your account, domain in your name, and every login in your password manager, including ours.

Do you need a new site at all?

Maybe not. If your site is on WordPress and loads in under three seconds on a phone, we’ll usually add pages and fix what’s there rather than rebuild. If it’s on Wix or Squarespace, takes more than five seconds, or crams every service onto one page, a rebuild is faster than repairs. The audit tells you which, with the numbers.

How the build runs

Day one you get an intake form: services, towns, a few sentences about the company, photos. Days three to five, a page map and a wireframe for your OK. Days six to fourteen, the site is built on a staging copy. You review it from a short walkthrough video and send one round of changes. Then speed work, tracking, testing and launch. Plan on three to four weeks from the day the intake form comes back. Thirty days of fixes after launch are included.

What a contractor website costs

Every site we build is a Conversion Site Build, priced by how many service and town pages your market needs, from $7,500. It’s included with Revenue Infrastructure and Multi-Market, so if you’re planning ads and AI follow-up anyway, the site comes with the system. A fast site nobody finds rarely makes the phone ring, so we’d suggest pairing it with local SEO and Google Maps work.

The terms, in plain words

Six-month minimum on retainers, then month to month with 30 days' written notice. A Conversion Site Build on its own is a one-time price. One contractor per trade per county, named in your agreement. If we miss the day-90 milestone, you can leave at day 90 with no fee and keep what we built. Your domain, website, Google profile and ad accounts are in your name from day one, and what we build is yours once it's paid for. Ad spend goes from your own account straight to Google, and to Meta where your plan includes it.

Contractor website design: what owners ask before a rebuild

How much does a contractor website cost?

Our Conversion Site Builds are $7,500 to $15,000 one-time, depending on how many service and town pages you need, paid half at signing and half before launch. The build is included with Revenue Infrastructure and Multi-Market. Ongoing WordPress maintenance is part of every retainer; on its own, it’s quoted separately. For what moves the price on any contractor site, read our contractor website cost guide.

Do you use a template?

We use WordPress and Divi as the tools, and the layout is built for your trade, your towns and your photos. You won’t see it on another contractor’s site.

Do you write the content?

Yes, every word. You fill in one intake form and send photos; we write every page for your customers and for Google, and you approve it before launch.

What if I don’t have good photos?

Most contractors don’t at first. We launch with your own job photos where you have them and licensed photos of real trade work where you don’t, never posed stock models. Your crew gets a one-page guide to taking job photos, and real photos replace the licensed ones as they come.

Who owns the site?

Your domain and hosting are in your name from day one, and we work as an administrator on your account. The site’s files and content are yours once the build is paid for.

Find out what your website is costing you

The free audit runs your site through PageSpeed on a phone, checks for a page for every service and town, and sends your form after hours to time what happens next. By email within one business day: a screen-recorded video, a written list, three fixes you can make yourself, the plan and price we’d suggest, and whether your trade is still open in your county. No sales call. Every week the site stays as it is, the homeowners who leave it are calling the next contractor on the list.
