Coating is a visual trade. A homeowner decides from photos of floors, usually on a phone, often in the evening after work. So the useful question isn't which platform is better in general. It's which one shows your floors fast, gets found for the jobs you want, and stays yours. Here's the honest comparison for epoxy and concrete coating companies.
The short answer
Wix is fine for getting started. WordPress is the better choice once you want a page for each service and each town, full control over speed, and a site you own and can move.

Speed depends on what you put on the page
Both platforms can be fast or slow. For coating companies the usual problem is the gallery: dozens of full-size phone photos on one page. Compress photos before you upload them (WebP keeps them small), show a few per finish and link to the rest, and keep sliders and video off the top of the page.
Then check the page in PageSpeed Insights on mobile. Google's guidance is for the main content to show within 2.5 seconds (web.dev). Speed helps, but it isn't everything: Google still shows the most relevant result first (Google Search Central). For the map, your Google profile, your reviews and pages for the jobs and towns you want matter more.
Ownership: renting or owning
With Wix, the site lives on Wix's servers and has to stay there. You can keep your domain, but if you ever leave, you rebuild the site somewhere else. With WordPress the site is yours: the files, the database and the hosting account can all be in your name, and you can move whenever you want.
Editing: both are easy now

When to switch
If your Wix site loads fast on a phone and brings you calls, keep it and add pages. Switch when you need many service and town pages, when the gallery makes the site slow and the template won't let you fix it, or when you want to own the site outright. As a rule of thumb, a site that takes more than five seconds on a phone or crams every service onto one page is usually faster to rebuild than to repair.
